I like Microsoft Office and use it every day for email and what not, despite some of my misgivings about the Microsoft Corporation. It does the job, so I'm not prone to getting into major debates about Office vs. Lotus vs. OpenOffice, etc.

The built-in spell check feature now checks grammar, which is helpful in case you accidentally type a word twice or have a sentence with odd grammar. Little did I know that it would seek to make me it's little bitch. I'm not joking; the other day I caught myself repeatedly rephrasing a sentence so as not to fall out of favor with the great and powerful Microsoft Word.

What a sad situation, me reworking and massaging my above-average grammar to suit a computer program. A program, I might add, probably written by some geek programmer with dubious communication skills, who lives in a foreign country, AND speaks a different version of English (see: U.S. English, or 'American' as in 'Do you speak American?').

From now on I'm going to lean a little heavier on my schooling and my instinct.

  2. So, so very true. Especially since I know what it’s like working for the corporate puddle that is Microsoft. Yeah. Puddle. ‘Nuff said.
